Meet #4 – Hallsley @ Salisbury

Time: 6:00 pm start; pool gate opens at 4:30 pm

Location: 13620 W Salisbury Rd. Midlothian, Virginia 23113

Parking: There is ample parking around the club and pool. There are two main lots — one on the pool/tennis court side of the main clubhouse and one on the other side of the main clubhouse near the driving range. In the event all parking is full, feel free to use Salisbury Presbyterian Church — across the street from the club. Please do not park on the grass or along the grassy shoulder of Salisbury Road.

Timeline and Warm-Ups:

• 4:30 pm: Pool gates open for swimmer and volunteer check-in
• 5:30-5:50 pm: Hallsley warmups
• 5:30 pm: Volunteers check in at our volunteer table
• 5:45 pm: Timer and Strokes and Turns Meetings - All timers and judges should plan to attend - both 1st and 2nd half
• 6:00 pm: Start of Meet

Pool Seating:

Make yourself at home! When you enter the pool area your team may set up on the right-hand side of the pool. The on-deck seating area also extends into the area near the snack shack and outside of that side gate to the field noted in the attached picture. The field is available for overflow if the deck feels too crowded. There are some chairs available but families are encouraged to bring their own as well. The deck will be sunny until about 8 p.m., when the sun goes behind the trees. If you want to bring some pop-up tents/umbrellas, feel free. Tents/canopies are allowed on the pool deck, but please be mindful of the fact that storms are forecasted for tomorrow night and tents do have a tendency to fly away when they are caught by a good gust of wind. Please make every effort to secure any tents or canopies. The snack bar staff asks you to be aware that the seating on the deck in front of the snack bar is for people who are eating.

Food/Concessions: Come hungry! Salisbury will have a buffet set-up with hamburgers, hot dogs and wraps, etc. The concession items are priced per item, but please bring cash as the snack bar is a member account-based service and not equipped for credit purchases. Also, in support of the CAL charity, we will sell $1 “shout outs.” These can be purchased from the announcer (who sits near the starter).

Reminders:

• To help the timers and clerk of course make sure they have the correct swimmers in the correct heats and lanes, please make sure your swimmers have their FIRST INITIAL and LAST NAME on their upper right shoulder for ID purposes. (Heat sheets will be sent in a separate email tomorrow.)
• Swimmers and their younger siblings are not allowed in the diving well, wading pool, or baby pool during the meet. This policy will be strictly enforced by lifeguards.
• The Salisbury pool is a meter pool.

Important: Prior to leaving the meet after your swimmer is finished swimming, please check with the coaches to make sure your swimmer is not included on a relay. Quite often, it is necessary for coaches to make changes to the relay lineups after the meet has started. If a swimmer is scheduled to be on a relay and leaves before the relay, it is not fair to other swimmers who have stayed to swim, only to have their relay disqualified.

Weather: In the event of inclement weather, please do not leave until you have been given official notification from a board member or coach that the meet will not continue. Ideally, we would prefer to ride out the storm and continue the meet rather than canceling.
