Food: In the past, there were sandwiches and snacks available in the large space near the front entrance. It is labeled as "concessions" on the seating map. It is highly recommended that you bring some healthy snacks and drinks as the selection of food is limited. If you plan to stay for more than one session, it is recommended that you bring lunch or plan to go out to get something.

King of Pops will be on-site during Sessions 1, 2, and 3.
O'How Sweet Cotton Candy will be there during all four sessions.
Reflected Visions Photography will be set up in the front lobby for anyone who would like photos with their medals, ribbons, teammates, or friends. Photo galleries will be uploaded to the CAL website by session following the meet.

Merchandise: The Swim and Tri Shop will be open from 8:30 to 5:00 both days. They sell suits, goggles, and other swim-related merchandise.

Parking: Coaches, parents and spectators will use the parking lot at Collegiate School Aquatics Center. The overflow parking will be at Ukrop Park or the vacant Martin's parking lot. We encourage you to carpool. Parking is not allowed at Hening Elementary, Noble Daycare, or on the grass. There will be police patrolling.

Seating: Hallsley swimmers will be seated on deck near the side door that leads to the parking lot (see attached map). Parents and spectators will be seated in the upper viewing deck. Swimmers should sit with the team while waiting to swim their events. They may check in with their parents after their swims, but please return as quickly as possible to the team area. We don't want anyone to miss their event! Parents should remain in the upper seating area during the meet. No spectators are allowed on the pool deck.

Attire:

  • All 8 & under participants must have their Last name, First initial on their right shoulder.
  • Swimmers are allowed to wear any suits that are approved by USA Swimming. Swimmers may wear approved tech suits and, of course, Hallsley High Tides suits. CAL follows the USA Swimming rules on tech suits for all competitions, including dual meets. This means that 13-18 swimmers are allowed to wear tech suits, as long as they are otherwise approved for competition. The only types of suits generally not allowed are those with an unapproved compressive element, such as a tie-back or a zipper. There are certain “tech suits” that ARE approved for use by a 12 and under. Just because a young female swimmer is in a kneeskin, that does not automatically mean that she is in an unapproved suit. Suits not allowed for 12U swimmers are generally suits made out of a certain type of fabric that extend to the knee, or suits that have “bonded” (invisible) seams. Tech suits approved for 12U use usually have a green checkmark on the FINA exterior tag on the rear. Some older suits (pre-2020) will not have that, and even on the newer suits, sometimes that tag wears off. USA swimming has a list from 2020 of tech suits available at that time that are approved for 12U use: https://www.usaswimming.org/docs/default-source/rules-regulations/tech-suit-restrictions/12-under-approved-suits-2-18-21.pdf.
  • CAL Champs t-shirts that were pre-ordered will be distributed the day of the meet. We strongly encourage labeling them with your swimmer's name as soon as you get them.
  • Please bring extra towels, extra goggles, and a swim cap.

Reminders:

  • If you have any questions during Champs, find a board member or coach in a pink "Swim Like a Champion" shirt.
  • Ribbon bins will be at CSAC during Champs. If you haven’t picked up your regular season awards or if your swimmer earns a medal or ribbon during Champs, check your family’s folder in the bins.
  • Please get plenty of rest between now and Champs. Stay hydrated, eat healthy, and try to avoid places where you will be exposed to a lot of germs.
